Disney World Package - Choosing a Place to Stay

Should you stay on Disney World Property or an offsite hotel? It all depends on your party and what you want to do while you are on vacation. Please understand that the hotel is probably going to be one of the least expensive components of your Disney World package, but as you well know a hotel can be the difference between a great vacation and a lousy one.

A. On Site Hotels- If you want to stay on the Disney World Properties then you are probably going to spend a few more dollars than you would if you stayed off site. However, there are some great amenities of staying onsite; one in particular is the FREE shuttle service that runs every 30 minutes to all the theme parks. This is great for families with small children (don’t forget about nap times), or families that like to go to the parks in the morning then come back to the hotel to rest and relax before returning to the parks in the afternoon.

One of the ways to cut down on the cost of staying onsite is to choose a hotel that is on the Disney World property but that is not owned by Disney World. These hotels offer many of the same amenities as the Disney owned hotels but at a fraction of the price. We recommend two of these properties in particular the Best Western Inside Disney World and the Royal Plaza Resort.

B. Off Site Hotels- By in large, the offsite hotels typically offer better rates and more amenities as compared to hotels on Disney World property. Why is this? Simple, most guest who plan a Disney World vacation are under the impression that they have to stay onsite, so the offsite hotels have to offer better deals and great amenities to entice people to stay with them. Keep in mind, most people will spend 9 to 10 hours each day of their vacation at Disney World so they usually use their hotel for just sleeping.

If you have a large family or you just want to have more room to spread out then you might want to consider renting a vacation home near Disney World. These spacious units are all owned by individual families who bought a vacation home for their family to enjoy, and these families allow us to rent them out when they are not using it. Most of these homes and condos can be fetched for nearly the same price as a hotel room, but they offer far more space to spread out. In addition to offering more space, most of them come with their own private swimming pools and fully functional kitchens.
